Fit By Fingertips 36

Greetings everyone,
Thanksgiving is soon approaching, within literal hours of
this message being delivered to you. If you live in TRF, there's a way to give thanks to others who are in need, and that's by donating blood at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. There's a Blood Drivethat starts today, from 12:30pm to 6:00pm, as well as onWednesday, from 7:30am to 12:30pm. If you want to donate, give my great friend Sylvia Jensen a call, at 681-4512.

I hope you have some great holiday plans over the break.
I plan to head back home on Wednesday night to spend some much-needed quality time with my Mom & Dad. Not sure what they have in mind of doing, but hopefully Dad & I get busy with working on a bunch of little projects. You see, I get a lot of my training 'inventiveness' from my Dad. He can create things in a way that would make the TV show actor, "MacGyver", shudder in amazement. I'm not as handy with wood & tools like my dad, but I think I got a couple of his inventive genes with my creations I've made out of PVC pipe. I'm not a plumber by any means, but I like creating stuff with the pipes & connections that are available. I've included a special article for you on some of my PVC pipe creations, as it showcases my new e-book,"Rocket Speed Training On A Budget 2".http://clicks.aweber.com/z/ct/?DPkX93dalw23_D6jfECuxA is the site for that book.

Fitness Tip of the Week:
Thanksgiving is here, and its the start of the holiday hub-bub. Travelling, relatives, visits, parties, and other festivities are happening. It also means that you might not have enough time to devote to your fitness workouts. This is when my 10-15 minute workout solutions can really come in handy. Simply, you divide your regular workout times of 20 or 30 minute durations, into 2, seperate workout times. Or, if you can only make one workout, at least try to get in a 10 to 15 minute workout. 10 minutes is always better than ZERO minutes. Following a few workout strategies here for strength & for cardio workouts can give you a solid effort in very little time. Strength Workouts: Try to do a full body circuit of 6 fundamental movements. Squatting, Lunging, Pushing, Pulling, Bending, and Twisting. Work for 30 seconds on each lift, with 30 seconds rest before you move to the next one. As for exercises, simply ask yourself "What type of movement is this?" and soon, you'll find 6 lifts to do. 2 rounds is a 12 minute workout, 3 rounds would be 18. Pick a moderate weight that you can handle for the 30second work periods.

Cardio: Apply the 'easy-hard' principle. Work out at an easy-pace of intensity, like a 5 or 6 out of 10 rating, for 2 minutes. Then, do a 30 second 'hard' rating at an 8 or 9 rating. Repeat this for 4 times to get a 10 minute workout. 6 times gets you a 15 minute workout. This is easy to apply to a treadmill at home, or a bike, or the cross-trainer you have.

Updates on the future of Speed Dial Coach:

In my never-ending research on training business functions, and how other trainers nationwide are structuring things, I've been learning and applying a lot of innovative ideas to my business. Things like the e-books I sell and people that I partner with in a trainer network, like the "YoungFitness Masterminds" group that I recently joined, all of these things are adding up to greater services for my valued customers. I am currently planning and brainstorming a new strategy to assist my clients and athletes with getting in even more quality training with me, at a price that will be a great overall value. (In fact, I'm about to bet you that it willbe the best darn value in fitness & sports training around!)
Starting on January 1st as a tentative date, I will start to offer a new Personal Training service that will be unlike anything else out there. This new method & training style is relatively new to the training industry, but it is widely creating an effective buzz for trainers & their clients. One program, one price, but completely adaptable for the ones who are successful candidates for the system. Its so revolutionary, I would probably say that the typical'one on one' mindset and training method will most likely be 'dead' in about 10 years, once this concept takes on throughout the industry.

One on One, Session By Session training has worked, but there are better methods to implement. Methods that will make more of an impact on the trainer's use of time, as well as the client's use of time. This benefits both the trainer and the client, making life easier on both ends. And to honestly tell you, this new method benefits you, the client, moreso than it will for me.
Seriously, this personal training strategy just makes much more sense to get the client to become more accountable for their fitness, and has a built-in goal setting system put in place, making motivation a key component for Continued Success.

Stay tuned as I prepare the "S.T.A.R. System" in the upcoming weeks. This new strategy is going to create quite a buzz of its own when it gets launched in January. Does unlimited training sessions sound like something you could benefit from in your scheduling needs? Does unlimited Phone & Email Consultations sound like something that will keep you focused for once? Does unlimited support, like nutritional guidance and body fat composition testing sound like it will keep you on task? Does aiming towards a goal, the "S.T.A.R. Factor", in each and every workout, sound like something great to shoot for?

If so, stay focused on Fit By Fingertips on what this new training strategy will bring to you. It will make my training process and planning become much, much smoother for you, and take your training to the nextlevel!

I can't wait to get this rolling for you.

Until next time,
Stay Strong!
Rick Karboviak, CSCS
